Fedja Malinovic meets his American host for the first time.
My family in Seattle

Fedja grills hot dogs for his fellow participants at the retreat.

Friday 26th of October.

We came to the host families!  We were very nervous about it, but when we came there, that turned to excitement.

All the host families, as I can see, are awesome and really friendly. During this weekend all of my friends, including me had tons and tons of fun. But, the most exciting event, at least for me, was the Halloween costume party! It was awesome to be a part of the masked crowd while listening to some really good teen music bands!  It was one of a lifetime event that we never experienced before and probably never will while we are teenagers.

Tomorrow is our first meeting at the University of Washington! I cannot describe the excitement we are feeling about it! Workshops, volunteering, doing hard work; it has to be done in the next 20 days to get the diplomas at the end! We are all looking forward to it and can’t wait to use the skills we are going to learn to help our communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina!

But, until then, there is a lot of, as I said, hard work and sweat in front of us, but, also fun and meeting new people! :D
