Community Partnerships

FIUTS is committed to creating and maintaining relationships with local community organizations so that together, we can strengthen our programs and be a part of international engagement and cross-cultural understanding within the community.

Community Partners


The World Affairs Council - Like FIUTS, the World Affairs Council works to link the Greater Seattle area to the world. FIUTS and the World Affairs Council team up to deliver forum events that focus on citizen diplomacy and global professional connections.

Global Washington - Global Washington supports the global development sector in Washington State, and partners with FIUTS to deliver global education and focus group programs that promote international development on a local level.

Americorps - Americorps volunteers serve communities throughout the US to promote education, health, and community integration. Qualified Americorps participants are seconded to the FIUTS offices to oversee its international education outreach programs.

Seattle International Film Festival - Now an annual civic tradition, the SIFF promotes international culture in Seattle through extraordinary films that showcase culture from around the world. FIUTS volunteers have teamed up with SIFF to serve on event film panels and promote the SIFF mission.

Yelp - FIUTS works with Yelp as an online partner to promote and showcase FIUTS events in the Seattle community, including CulturalFest and the Wednesday Lunch program. Through Yelp, FIUTS is able to amplify its message to diverse sections of the community

KEXP - KEXP is Seattle's premier world music station, and FIUTS is proud to work with KEXP through its JUICE program to promote world music at annual fundraiser events.

One World Now - As organizations committed to nurturing the next generation of globally-minded leaders, One World Now and FIUTS collaborate on youth leadership development and global language workshops, particularly in Chinese.

Team Diva Real Estate - FIUTS and Team Diva are working together to connect people in the community through the place that is most important to them: home. For every sale completed by Team Diva with a FIUTS referral, a contribution will be made to FIUTS programs that benefit the community.

Fortunato Vega - An integral part of Morgan Stanley in the Greater Seattle area, Fortunato spearheads the FIUTS World to Work program, and is dedicated to the FIUTS ideals of international understanding through education.

 

Educational Partners


University Prep - An independent day school in Seattle's North End, University Prep works with FIUTS to offer students in grades 6-12 opportunities to discuss continuing education and global careers with international students.

TOPS - TOPS (The Option Program at Seward, K-8) is an innovative alternative school that highly values academics, social justice, and the arts. Located in the Eastlake neighborhood, FIUTS works with students through annual classroom visit programs to present on the cultures of the world.

White Center Heights Elementary - FIUTS collaborates with staff at White Center Heights to give international and returned study abroad students the opportunity to participate in a Pen Pal program with White Center students. Located in the Highline School District, White Center Heights focuses on building community through education.

Orca Elementary - FIUTS also partners with Orca elementary in its pen pal program, embracing the Orca mission to promote equality and global responsibility. Orca is located in Rainier Valley, one of the nation's most diverse zip codes.
