My meeting with Autumn (World Affairs Council) not only taught me more about the work at a non-profit organization, but also gave an interesting insight into the difference between non-profits in Europe and the US. This was a great opportunity to learn about the differences in the work place in the US and my home country. -Student Participant of Take the World to Work 2009
The FIUTS Take the World to Work Program offers international and globally minded domestic students in our community an opportunity to share a day on the job with a local professional. In this unique program, students from around the world have a chance to see a local workplace, meet professionals in their field of interest, and learn about corporate life and institutional culture in the U.S.
This year’s Take the World to Work Program will take place from February 16th through February 22nd. Host organizations represent a wide variety of industries, ranging from the financial sector, healthcare, and education to aerospace engineering and biotech. It was beneficial to me as a host as I was able to talk with students from different cultures that I am not normally exposed to. -World to Work Host 2009
