Every Friday this summer go on an adventure with FIUTS! Explore Seattle's parks and beaches, enjoy live music, food and arts festivals, or pick up a paddle and canoe in Lake Washington. You can do all of these activities and more with FIUTS, so mark your calendars. Every Friday let FIUTS be your guide to exploration, friends and fun!
This week's event is: Union Bay Waterfront Activities
We will meet at the Burke Museum Cafe and walk down to the WAC (behind Husky Stadium on Union Bay). Once there, we will rent canoes or rowboats. Three people can fit in one canoe, so we will divide into groups and rent canoes. If you have a Husky Card, bring it because you can receive a discount on rentals. Canoes cost $5 an hour for Husky card holders and $9 without. However, no need to worry if you do not have one, it is likely that there will be at least one Husky card per canoe of three, and that is all that it takes to receive the discounted price. Come to canoe, or if you would rather, lay out on the dock and watch your FIUTS friends brave the water--maybe those who do not want to canoe can take pictures? Following our canoe trip, we will go out for dinner/drinks as a group! An evening on the water, capped off with food...now that sounds like a perfect Friday evening.
Who: Current students and FIUTS friends
When: 5pm
Where: Meet at the Burke Museum Cafe, outside, in the parking lot
What to bring: You will need a valid UW ID (if you have one), or a driver's license, cash for renting canoes/rowboats, camera, money for drinks/dinner and weather appropriate clothing.
