These events & activities are a great way to make friends and get to know this beautiful area! Our events and activities programs are primarily designed for UW graduate and undergraduate students, as well as visiting faculty, scholars and ELP students. Trip details will be made available 2-3 weeks prior to t he event in the FIUTS office, at Wednesday Lunches and via our weekly e-newsletter. Students and scholars can sign up in person with FIUTS staff.

Some events are open to non-students as well - for complete details, please see our online calendar of events.

How to Sign-up for Events

1. Read the FIUTS E-News! Each FIUTS event is announced in our weekly newsletter. You can register to receive the newsletter online at the FIUTS website: www.fiuts.org (on the right hand side of the page).

2. You can usually sign-up for an event 2-3 weeks before it happens. To participate, come to the FIUTS office (HUB 206), register your name, and pay the event fee. FIUTS members have a priority registration period where they can sign-up for events before the general public. For downtown ELP students, FIUTS staff will visit the downtown ELP campus each week.

3. Become a FIUTS member! You can do this at the FIUTS office in the HUB, room 206. Members can pay lower event fees and are allowed to sign-up for events earlier than non-members.

-Cancel up to 3 BUSINESS DAYS prior to the event: Full refund minus 25%

-Cancel within 3 BUSINESS DAYS of the event: No refund unless we can fill the spot

Wednesday Lunch - A University of Washington Institution

The FIUTS Wednesday Lunch program is the largest international gathering on the University of Washington campus, and is held once a month from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Each month hundreds of local and international students mingle with community members to discuss international issues, enjoy a free lunch spread, and make new friends.

Check the FIUTS event calendar to learn when the next Wednesday Lunch will be. In Fall 2012, FIUTS will return to the beautifully renovated Husky Union Building (HUB) where we will continue the new tradition of a monthly Wednesday Lunch in the South Ballroom of the HUB.

FIUTS is also committed to providing sustainable and environmentally responsible programs. The FIUTS Wednesday lunch program recycles over 80% of its materials, and provides on site-composting. In addition, although the beverages at Wednesday Lunch are free, FIUTS asks that you bring your own mug or cup to enjoy them. For those who come to Wednesday lunch without their own cup, reusable FIUTS mugs and glassware will be available for purchase on site.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Michael Rooney, FIUTS Office and Operations Coordinator.
