Most Interesting Day of My Life
The Most Interesting Day of My Life!
A post by Irada Mehdiyeva on overcoming obstacles and learning from them
This was a great day, because it is my day for blogging.
After an early breakfast I joined the group at the University of Washington campus. The day began with a morning meeting and a talk on leadership and how to look at situations in a way to understand that they are not better, not worse, just different. It was fun, because we were also learning about teamwork and used these new skills in a game where we had to create a balloon tower.
Following a tour of the university, we all went to Washington Lake for canoeing. It was the first experience for me and it was cool. (It was a new experience for most of us! And much more difficult than expected) Some of the other students and staff fell in the water when their canoe flipped, including my host sister Roza. They were fine, they were all wearing life jackets. It just goes to show you that we all make mistakes sometimes when we try new things.
Roza and I took the bus home after the event. It was also the first time we were on the bus together along. And guess what happened? We forgot the correct station from which we had to got off. We got off in earlier station. For 15 minutes we were just walking for finding our home. We realized that we were lost and called our host mother. We returned to the station from which got off and she picked us up there. By the end of the day, I was so tired.
It was such an amazing day. Actually, it was even the most exciting and interesting because we had fun and overcame and learned from the obstacles that were in our way.
