Education programs
Connecting UW international students with the community is a central part of FIUTS' mission. Education Outreach programs bring the world to your doorstep by providing resources and expertise in cultural exchange and global issues.
For K-12 teachers in the Seattle area, FIUTS offers 3 ways to enrich your global curriculum and connect your students with people from around the world. Click the links below for more information:
The Global Ambassador Program
The Global Ambassador program brings UW students into K-12 classrooms for a day. The students give interactive presentations about their country and culture.
Pen Pal Program
Designed for students in grades 4-6, the Pen Pal program coordinates the exchange of letters and emails with a UW student over a 6 week period. The program ends with lunch on the UW campus, bringing together with elementary and UW Pen Pals.
Elder Visit Program
The Elder Visit program is an opportunity for UW students to visit local senior living centers and share their home culture or travel experience abroad with the residents.
