The Seattle Summer English Program, organized by FIUTS, brings high school students from Xiguan Foreign Language School in Guangzhou, China to Seattle through Washington Cultural Exchange. The program takes place in July. Students spend each morning in English language classes and spend the afternoons on guided trips to locations around the Seattle area for fun and educational excursions.

Throughout the program, students will be exposed to spoken English in daily use and will be challenged to practice English in many environments. They will share unique experiences around Seattle and have the opportunity to build friendships among and across cultures.

Participants stay in residence halls on the University of Washington campus and spend one weekend (Friday evening through Monday morning) in a homestay to get to know a local host, learn about daily life in the Seattle area, and practice their English.
