International Orientation Schedule

International Student Orientation is designed for new international students coming to the University of Washington. The FIUTS orientation program provides a chance for students to learn more about the University of Washington and Seattle, receive infomation about immigration, health care, personal saftey and meet current students. Winter quarter orientation will be held on the first day of class. Several social events will be offered during the following weekend. Please check the schedule below for more information. FIUTS will contact you by e-mail before you arrive with detailed orientation information. Please attend as many events as possible.

Some social activites have required sign up and cost a small fee (cash or checks only please). We look forward to seeing you!

Friday, January 2
3:30-5:00pm Welcome Reception
Join current UW students and FIUTS staff for a reception to welcome you and other incoming international students and scholars to the UW. Activities may follow the reception. *Family members and friends welcome to attend.
Meeting Place: HUB 200

Saturday, January 3
12:00pm Scavenger Hunt
Discover famous landmarks, learn your way around the city, and find the best places to eat, drink, and shop.
Meeting Place: Burke Museum Cafe

4:30pm Evening Out

FIUTS Facilitators will accompany the group to dinner at a local restaurant followed by ice skating at the Seattle Center.

Sunday, January 4
12:00pm Shopping Trip

FIUTS Facilitators will accompany the group to a number of stores where you can purchase the essential items to help you get your living space situated. Some of the places this group visits are Ikea, a shopping Mall, and Target. The group will stop to have lunch.
