Do I need health insurance during Orientation and/or Early Fall Start?
Yes – you never know what can happen! UW student insurance plans begin when classes start, not when you arrive in the US. If you arrive early and do not have health insurance until classes start, it is highly recommended that you get short-term insurance in case you become sick or get injured before classes start.
The same is true for students participating in the Early Fall Start program, prior to the official start of autumn quarter.
