Meet the 2023 Ehime Participants!
The Diversity and Education Program with Ehime University, is a short-term visiting program for 6 undergraduate students from Ehime University in Japan from March 6th to March 19th. During the 2-week program, students will gain understanding of U.S. diversity and the U.S. education system. They will grow their leadership capacity, expand their English language skills, and become acquainted with people and places of interest in Seattle. Participants will take English classes during many of the mornings, followed by site visits to schools and organizations, cultural excursions, communication workshops, and more. My name is Hanako Yano and I am from Matsuyama, Japan. I am most interested in learning about different cultures and diversity while I’m in Seattle. I currently attend Ehime University and study education. In my free time, I belong to a dance club and practice dance four times a week.
My name is Kiko Uomoto. I live in Japan and belong to the school of education. I want to be an elementary school teacher in the future. During my time in Seattle, I want to improve my English conversation ability, cross-cultural understanding, and knowledge about gender. In my free time, I like running and going shopping.
My name is Yuki Tsubouchi. I'm a graduate student at Ehime University. My major is English Education. During my time in Seattle, I want to improve my speaking ability, and learn about diversity and cultural difference. In my free time, I like running.
My name is Yuho Nyunoya. I live in Ehime and I'm studying English to be a English teacher! I'd like to learn more about US culture and teach FIUTS about Japanese culture! I like playing basketball or practicing calligraphy in my free time.
My name is Nana Yamashita. My favorite subject is English. One day, I want to be an English teacher in Japan. In my university life, I am studying English by reading "Wonder”. My hobbies are dancing and playing baton twirling, listening to music, taking pictures and I can play the piano a little.
My name is Hiroto. I have been playing football once a week since I was 8 and hope I get a chance to do so while I’m in the US!
