FIUTS Ambassador Application

FIUTS Ambassadors are youth ages 14-17 from the greater Seattle area who volunteer to be matched with a visiting international student from Bolivia or Peru during workshops and activities taking place between October 13-21, 2018. There is no cost to participate (meals and admissions tickets are covered by the program), and students can earn up to 15 service hours. All Ambassadors must participate in a mandatory training prior to the start of the program. There are two options for training times (you only need to attend ONE). Please indicate which training you would like to attend (trainings will take place on the UW campus): *
If you can make it to both trainings and have no preference, please select both! If you are selected, we will let you know which one is best for you to attend.
FIUTS Youth Ambassadors will need to be available for five specific group activities with the Bolivian & Peruvian youth: (1) A cross-cultural teambuilding and leadership workshop on the UW campus (HUB, room 214) - Saturday, October 13, 10:00-1:30pm (includes lunch) (2) A group volunteer service project at Redeeming Soles, an organization that cleans and refurbishes shoes which are donated to Seattle’s homeless population - Saturday, October 13, 2:00-5:00pm (we will travel to the service project, located in South Lake Union, directly after lunch) (3) A cross-cultural event for youth at the Rainier Beach Community Center hosted by FIUTS and local youth organization 206 Forward to celebrate the Week for Peace campaign - Thursday, October 18, 6:00-7:30 pm (4) A trip to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center and Museum of Pop Culture at Seattle Center - Saturday, October 20, 2:30-5:30pm (5) A final celebration dinner at Buca di Beppo, 701 Westlake Ave N - Sunday, October 21, 6:00-8:00pm.
