Japan Programs Ambassador Application
About the Program
Japan Programs Ambassadors are University of Washington student volunteers who receive training and experience in leadership, planning, teamwork, and citizen diplomacy. Ambassadors are an integral part of the Tokyo Tech and Ehime University Programs and act as cultural liaisons, peer mentors, friends and leaders during the international participants’ time in Seattle. As a Japan Programs Ambassador you can learn new skills, have fun, make friends, build your resume, and support FIUTS’ mission to inspire cross-cultural friendship and understanding on campus and in our community.
Ambassadors will have the opportunity to meet and spend time with all 14 Tokyo Tech students and 10 Ehime University students, but will be matched one to one or two to one with a specific participant whom they will support throughout the program. Between February 25th and March 17th, 2019 Ambassadors should be available for the following:
Wednesday, February 20th, 5:30-7:30PM (Allen Research Commons Red C): pre-program training.
Tokyo Tech Activities
Monday, February 25th, 1:00 - 7:30PM: Tokyo Tech workshop, Theo Chocolate Factory Tour, Dinner in Fremont
Wednesday, February 27th, 11:30AM - 4:30PM (UW Campus): Lunch, UW Department visits, Tokyo Tech presentations
Sunday, March 3rd, 4:00-5:30PM (UW Campus): Ehime welcome and campus tour
Monday, March 4th, 3:30-5:00PM (U-District): “Ave” Tour
Tuesday, March 5th, 5:00-7:00PM (UW HUB) Dinner & Bowling
Saturday, March 9th: Ambassador-planned excursion
Wednesday, March 13th, Evening (Downtown Seattle): Shopping and Dinner
Saturday, March 16th, 6:00-8:00PM (UW Campus): Final Dinner Celebration
Please note that Ambassadors are volunteers. All Ambassador meals, transportation and admission fees during program activities are provided by FIUTS.
