Youth Ambassadors Program with the Caribbean
Since 2015, FIUTS has hosted groups of 12 high school youth and two adult mentors each summer through the Youth Ambassadors Program with the Caribbean. Participants came from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahamas, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Suriname, and Trinidad.
During this program, students and adults participate in workshops, site visits, and volunteer service activities focused on the themes of Youth Engagement and Social Transformation. Participants gain skills and experiences intended to prepare them to plan and implement community action projects once they return to their home countries. They stay with host families during their time in Seattle and have opportunities to meet and connect with local youth through the FIUTS Ambassadors program.
