FIUTS CulturalFest has long been known as a safe place to share and celebrate world cultures. Our participants and visitors come with a humble and open mind to embrace the unique diversity of this world.
The newly created Ukrainian Students United group at University of Washington found its place advocating for its culture and traditions at FIUTS CulturalFest 2023, and is returning to represent its nation in another important year.

Hello! My name is Oleksandra, but everyone calls me Sasha for short. In addition to my studies, I have served as the President of Ukrainian Students United at UW since our club's inception in 2022.
Participation at CulturalFest last year was absolutely a highlight for us. It’s an incredible platform to share the richness of Ukrainian culture and heritage with others as well as dispel misconceptions and foster understanding about Ukraine and Ukrainian culture beyond what the media portrays.
CulturalFest 2024 is very crucial for us. It will be held on February 24th, which is the date Russia led a full-scale invasion of Ukraine 2 years ago. However, despite the devastation, I think that it is really symbolic that we GET to showcase Ukrainian culture on this day. By collaborating with the Ukraine Community at Bellevue College this year, we take this opportunity to showcase the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian people. By participating on this day, we affirm that Ukraine survived and will survive and win over the darkness. I couldn't be prouder to represent my country in such a meaningful way.
Ukrainian Booth will showcase, among other things, traditional clothing and headwear that carries a rich history and heritage passed down through generations. Each intricate design and pattern tells a story, reflecting the unique traditions and customs of different regions in Ukraine. Attendees will have the opportunity to try them on!
For us, attending CulturalFest is an enriching experience that encourages connections across geological boundaries and inspires a deeper understanding of the world around us.
