Photo Contest: Dogs

The FIUTS Photo Contest is a weekly opportunity for members of the FIUTS community to share images from around the world. The theme for this week was "dogs.” Since last Friday, we received photos of eight happy dogs by photographers from Australia, Taiwan, Colombia, China, and the United States.

There were many great submissions and it was difficult for the FIUTS Staff to choose just three winners! Thank you to everyone for sharing your pictures - continue on to see photo entries and contest winners…

“This is Mina! She is 4 years old and currently lives in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood. She spends most of the time either chasing rabbits and squirrels, or day dreaming on the couch. Occasionally she enjoys sitting on our lawn and getting baked by the sun. The photo was taken in our house while she posted for me so that I could take a nice pic of her!”

Hengyang Zhi // Hometown: Nanjing, China

“This is the photo of my dog Niuniu and it's taken in China. The story can be described as "when you are holding his favorite snack.” My dog's name is "Niuniu", which means "bull" in Chinese. The reason why we gave him this name is because we want him to be as strong as a bull since he was tiny and weak when he first came to my family. (Actually, the most important reason is because my mother wanted the stock market to be the "bull market" as she was speculating in the stock market at that time).”

Peggy Peiyao Zhao // Hometown: Hangzhou, China
