FIUTS Connections is an intercultural friendship program designed for international and domestic students to make connections with one another in fun and meaningful ways. Participants are placed in small groups (4-6 participants) who meet throughout the course of Fall Quarter to build cross-cultural relationships. Teams of peers are designed to be culturally diverse in order to meet and interact with the variety of students who make up the UW community. Together, these groups set aside time to practice cross-cultural communication skills, make new friends, learn about different cultures, and explore Seattle!
Teams will be facilitated by two student leaders in the FIUTS Facilitator Program. The team facilitators will plan at least three events for the group throughout the quarter – one casual get-together, one fun event and one service event. In addition to small group gatherings, all FIUTS Connections participants come together for three all-group gatherings coordinated by FIUTS. The time commitment for participating in this program would be a minimum of two events per month. But, teams are encouraged to get together as much as they like!
