Hao Wong, UW freshman majoring in Computer Science
First, Introductions:
My name's Hao (he/him) and I'm from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! I'm currently a freshman majoring in Computer Science at UW!
How did you first get involved with FIUTS?
I first heard about FIUTS through their embark sessions and e-mail communications, I joined their Facebook group and then the Discord server shortly after.
Why did you join the FIUTS discord?
I started using the FIUTS Discord during the summer before my first quarter at UW, purely out of curiosity at first.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF CONNECTING WITH THE FIUTS COMMUNITY ON DISCORD? WHY SHOULD STUDENTS JOIN?
The FIUTS server has helped me massively in my transition to life at UW, there are tons of friendly and helpful people - both FIUTS staff, students and even alumni, that happily offered me advice and tips on starting college here. You meet a lot of interesting people with interesting stories to tell! If you're looking for a place to hang out and chat with some really cool folks, FIUTS Discord is the place to be!
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CHANNEL ON THE FIUTS DISCORD? WHY?
My pick for favorite server has got to be a close tie between #lounge, #foodies, or #adventure-time! I really enjoy the random discussions and chats, food pictures and pictures of people's adventures from all around :)
