Seattle Area Businesses: Apply to Host a YLAI Fellow Next Spring
FIUTS has partnered with IREX: A global development & education organization to implement the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Fellowship program in Seattle and 16 other cities across the USA from April 27 - May 21, 2026.
YLAI is the U.S. Department of State's flagship program for emerging entrepreneurs and community
leaders from across the Western Hemisphere. It strengthens economic ties throughout the
Americas by fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and cross-regional collaboration.
FIUTS is seeking organizations and businesses that would be interested in hosting a fellow for a 4 week (16 business days) a professional exchange. Over the course of the exchange, Fellows develop new skills and share their experiences while U.S. companies gain valuable global perspectives, market insights, and lasting international connections, including an opportunity for reciprocal exchange.
Fellows are professionals from multiple fields, including advanced technologies, agriculture, animal care, architecture, artisan products, arts/music/culture, biotechnology, community development, design, digital marketing, education, energy, fashion, food and beverage, healthcare and wellness, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, sports and fitness, youth empowerment.
