Union Bay Urban Hike

Discover Seattle's Laurelhurst neighborhood through a few miles of restored lake shoreline and well-maintained trails. Not only is this one of the best birding spots in all of Seattle, you’ll also get great views of Husky Stadium, Bellevue, and even Mt. Rainier (Tahoma) on a clear day! Participants have the option to enjoy a socially-distant lunch together after the event. There are many restaurants close by, including those at the University Village Shopping Center. Due to safety regulations around Covid-19, spaces are limited and pre-registration is required.

Difficulty Rating: Easy
Rating Rationale: This trail is flat, well-maintained, and close to the University of Washington Campus and University Village Shopping Center.

What to bring: Lightweight backpack or bag for water bottle, snacks, money for lunch, and any other items you'll need throughout the day. Wear comfortable shoes (tennis shoes highly recommended) and weather-appropriate clothing.
