FIUTS CulturalFest Recap

FIUTS CulturalFest 2025 took place on Saturday, April 19, at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, offering a vibrant celebration of global cultures through student-led exhibits and performances.

International Expo

The event began with the International Expo, featuring over 20 booths representing diverse cultures. Attendees engaged with interactive displays, sampled traditional foods, and participated in cultural activities. Booths showcased countries like Japan, Brazil, Myanmar, China, Somalia, Colombia, and Ukraine, creating an atmosphere of global unity and cultural exchange. ​

Performance Showcase

The evening continued with the Performance Showcase, highlighting traditional and contemporary performances:

  • Los Rebeldes de la Cueca: Presented Chilean folk dances, including the national dance, Cueca, reflecting rural traditions.

  • Irish Dance Group: The Seattle Irish Dance Company blends traditional and modern Irish dance, offering professional performance opportunities beyond competition.​

  • Echo Arts Center: The ensemble featuring Chinese pipa performance, fusion music collaboration and world music performance.​

  • Unplugged: We are specifically going to showcase Carnatic music which originates from Southern India. Carnatic music has a very unique and intricate structure of scales that evokes specific emotions.

The showcase underscored the talents of Seattle’s international student community, highlighting cultural richness and mutual respect
