New Students—Make a FIUTS Connection!
Starting college in a new place is exciting - and scary! It can be hard to build a new social network in a place where the streets, shops, restaurants, and people are all unfamiliar.
FIUTS Connections helps people make friends and create a strong social network before school even starts.

How it works:
Incoming students are invited to be matched with a local student mentor who already attends your intended University. They will help you prepare to travel, show you around, and help you begin to feel comfortable in Seattle. Matches are based on interests and hobbies, field of study, and languages spoken to match you with someone you feel comfortable with.
At FIUTS we know that cross-cultural relationships can enrich student’s lives, reduce isolation, and improve college experiences. Many FIUTS alumni have found a sense of belonging in Seattle through our programs and events, and go on to become active community members and successful leaders.
