A Concrete Way to Make a Difference: Join the FIUTS Board of Trustees

FIUTS is recruiting new members for our Board of Trustees, with terms beginning in July, 2026. Trustees are volunteers who serve for a three-year term that can be renewed once, for six total years of service.

As our country and communities around the world are experience increased conflict, displacement, and division, spaces that bring people together across cultures matter more deeply than ever. FIUTS exists to create those spaces through international exchange, dialogue, and shared experience in our local community.

For FIUTS, the past few years have brought real challenges. We have had to adjust quickly, rebuild our funding base, and stay steady while navigating financial and operational strain. Our programs have continued through this period, but we are still in a time of recovery and rebuilding.

At the same time, FIUTS is at a unique turning point - launching new programs and reimagining our work as we approach our 80th birthday! It’s both an exciting and challenging time for our small organization.

The FIUTS Board of Trustees plays a direct role in shaping what comes next. Trustees help guide strategy, strengthen financial sustainability, and open doors to partnerships that expand what is possible. Stepping into a leadership role at FIUTS is a chance to be part of FIUTS recovery and to help ensure the organization is stable, resilient, and positioned for the future.

Each year, FIUTS recruits new trustees who care about global connection and local community, and who believe that relationships across cultures strengthen understanding and make our region more competitive, more innovative, and more compassionate.
